Mumbai - Content creator and actress Prajakta Koli has reflected on how drastically content consumption has evolved since the 1990s, a time when kids had limited TV hours and only a handful of channels.
Speaking to IANS about changing viewing habits, Prajakta recalled how structured television time was while growing up.
“I remember when we were growing up, we used to be told that you have 2 hours in the evening. There were just 6 channels on TV, so you watched whatever came on,” she said.
She pointed out that today’s media landscape is completely different.
“Now, people can play content anywhere—on their TV, laptop, iPad, or phone. They can even listen to audio. It’s extremely diverse. Because of that, the recall value of shows has reduced,” she explained.
However, Prajakta disagrees with the belief that modern shows lack lasting impact.
“Every now and then, stories come along that make you wait and wonder when the next part will come. That hasn’t changed,” she added.
She believes the power now lies entirely with the audience.
“So, the onus has moved to the viewers. They decide which show will have recall value and which won’t. I don’t agree that shows today lack recall value,” she concluded.
Prajakta will next be seen in **“Single Papa”** on Netflix. The series stars Manoj Pahwa, Kunal Kemmu, Prajakta, and Ayesha Raza Mishra. It follows Gaurav Gehlot, a lovable but immature man whose sudden decision to adopt a baby after his divorce leaves his family bewildered. What follows is a series of comedic and emotional moments as the family tries to understand how a man who misplaces his socks plans to raise a child.
**Single Papa** premieres on **December 12** on Netflix.
