Zareen Khan: Playing Myself in Phir Se Restart

Mumbai – Actress Zareen Khan is set to make her debut in the short drama format with Phir Se Restart, a show on Pocket TV. She says the shoot was swift, the concept refreshing, and that she essentially got to play herself.

Speaking about the project, Zareen shared: “This was my first time working in a vertical short drama format, and the whole experience was really fun.”

In the show, she plays a celebrated actress, Zareen, who is unhappy with her costume designer’s creation. This dissatisfaction sparks an innovative idea—launching a contest to give aspiring designers a platform to showcase their talent.

“The shoot was quick, the concept was refreshing, and I got to play myself—Zareen Khan the actress. It was something new, fresh, and I really enjoyed doing it. Short dramas have finally made their mark in India,” she added.

Zareen believes Pocket TV brings entertainment directly to people’s hands. “Almost everyone owns a phone today, and Pocket TV is connecting with audiences in the best way possible,” she said.

The actress further emphasized her willingness to step out of her comfort zone: “I debuted in the short drama series with Pocket TV, and I’d love to have a long association with them. The experience was great, and I’m open to future collaborations.”

Zareen Khan made her acting debut in 2010 with Salman Khan’s Veer. She later appeared in the hit dance number Character Dheela from Ready (2011), followed by the successful comedy Housefull 2 (2012). Her career also spans Punjabi cinema (Jatt James Bond, 2014), Hindi films like Hate Story 3 (2015), and her Telugu debut Chanakya (2019).

Her last big-screen appearance was in Hum Bhi Akele Tum Bhi Akele (2021), directed by Harish Vyas, alongside Anshuman Jha and other notable actors.
