Los Angeles – Taylor Swift has surprised her fans with the announcement of her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.
The reveal came after a mysterious countdown appeared on her website, which ended at 12:12 a.m. EST on August 12. True to fan predictions, Swift unveiled the album title on Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast.
The news followed Kelce’s Instagram post confirming Swift would be a guest on the show, which he co-hosts with his brother Jason. Earlier in the week, the podcast had hinted at a “special guest,” and fans noticed a teaser image that appeared to include Swift’s silhouette.
Shortly after the announcement, Spotify billboards appeared in New York City and Nashville. They featured a code linking to a playlist called And, baby, that’s show business for you, made up entirely of Swift songs produced by Max Martin and Shellback—fueling speculation that the duo may be heavily involved in the new album.
Swift’s last studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, was released in April 2024 and expanded into a double album, The Anthology, just two hours later. That project went on to become the year’s top-selling album.
