Mrunal Thakur’s ‘Little Ritual’ of Watching Films with Fans: Calls It ‘Real Magic’

Mumbai : Actress Mrunal Thakur has shared that one of her cherished “little rituals” is watching her films in theatres with her fans. The actress recently watched her latest release, Son Of Sardaar 2, with an audience and described the experience as “real magic.”

Taking to Instagram, Mrunal posted a video capturing the special moment. In the clip, she’s seen enjoying the song Pahele Duja Tu, interacting with fans, gathering their reactions, and posing for pictures after the screening.

She revealed that this tradition began with her 2022 hit Sita Ramam:
“Ever since Sita Ramam, I’ve held on to this little ritual of watching the film in theatres with all of you. Because truly, the real magic happens when I hear your laughter, your cheers, your love echo through the halls. There’s no bigger reward for our hard work than feeling your energy live in that moment.”

She encouraged everyone to catch Son Of Sardaar 2 in theatres, saying, “I hope it leaves you smiling, laughing, and feeling just a little more full-hearted.”

Son Of Sardaar 2 is a Hindi-language comedy directed by Vijay Kumar Arora. A standalone sequel to the 2012 action-comedy Son of Sardaar, it stars Ajay Devgn, Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan, and Sanjay Mishra. The film also marks the posthumous appearance of Mukul Dev. The story follows a man who pretends to be a war hero to help a couple gain their families’ approval for marriage.

The original Son of Sardaar, directed by Ashwni Dhir and released in 2012, featured Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, and Juhi Chawla. It was a remake of the 2010 Telugu film Maryada Ramanna.

As for Sita Ramam, it’s a Telugu period romance directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, co-starring Dulquer Salmaan and Rashmika Mandanna. Set in 1964, the film tells the story of Lieutenant Ram, an orphaned army officer stationed at the Kashmir border, who sets out to find a mysterious woman named Sita Mahalakshmi after receiving anonymous love letters from her.
