New Delhi: Shubhangi Dutt, who is all set to make her big-screen debut with the upcoming film Tanvi The Great, opened up about her experience working with an ensemble of renowned actors including Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Pallavi Joshi, and Jackie Shroff. The newcomer admitted feeling “nervous,” while also being “awestruck and starstruck.”
Speaking to IANS, Shubhangi shared how overwhelming it was to work with such seasoned professionals.
“Just the thought of it made me nervous,” she said.
“Before every first shot with each actor, I used to get really anxious. I’ve seen them perform in so many roles—they’re all so versatile and experienced. People admire them for their talent and craft.”
Describing her initial reactions on set, she added, “Every time I did a scene with one of them, I’d first be completely awestruck, and then, honestly, starstruck.”
She also spoke about how Anupam Kher kept her grounded in her role.
“Sir would tell me, ‘Wake up, get into character. What’s the name of the film?’ I’d say Tanvi The Great. Then he’d ask, ‘And who are you playing?’ I’d answer, ‘Tanvi.’ Then he’d say, ‘Exactly. So be Tanvi.’ It was like I was witnessing my dream unfold in real life—watching these actors do what I had always wanted to do.”
Shubhangi described how she eventually found her rhythm and immersed herself in the role.
“Once we got into the flow, I became the character. And soon, everyone on set felt like family. Every scene I did with them was full of learning.”
She concluded, “There was so much to absorb from each one of them—the tiniest nuances, every expression. It was an incredible learning experience.”
Tanvi The Great is scheduled for release in cinemas on July 18.
