Mumbai- After emerging victorious on the reality show ‘The Traitors,’ Uorfi Javed has revealed that she’s been facing a wave of threats and abusive messages from people unhappy with her win.
Uorfi, no stranger to online trolling, shared that this time the backlash isn’t about her bold fashion choices but rather her victory on the show. Refusing to be affected by the negativity, she took to Instagram to share screenshots of the hate messages she’s been receiving since the finale of the Karan Johar-hosted reality series.
In her post, Uorfi wrote, “The moment people dislike something a woman achieves, they immediately pull out the ‘R’ word. I’ve been threatened and abused before, but this time, it’s not about my outfits—it’s because I won a show. Imagine being so petty that you abuse and threaten someone just because your favourite contestant didn’t win.”
She further added, “These are just the mildest messages I’m sharing publicly. No matter what I do, people find reasons to hate and abuse me. If I hadn’t voted Harsh out, they’d say I was blinded by love. Since I did vote him out, I’m called a traitor. If I had let Purav win, they’d call me foolish. Since I didn’t, they say I cheated. But hate has never stopped me before, and it won’t stop me now.”
Uorfi Javed is often targeted by online trolls for her bold and unconventional outfits, but she has always maintained that such criticism doesn’t bother her.
The actress, who rose to fame with ‘Bigg Boss OTT Season 1,’ recently clinched the winner’s title of ‘The Traitors’ alongside Nikita Luther. In an intense finale, the duo outwitted both the loyal Sudhanshu Pandey and the traitors Harsh Gujral and Purav Jha to claim victory. Uorfi and Nikita shared the grand prize of ?70 lakh.
Karan Johar, known for his signature charm, praised the contestants and reflected on the show’s gripping finale. He said, “The Traitors delivered everything we hoped for—drama, emotions, unpredictability, and sheer entertainment. Watching these players navigate betrayal and trust was a fascinating glimpse into human nature. Uorfi and Nikita, though from different worlds, cracked the game’s ultimate question—who can you trust when trust is the only currency? Their win wasn’t just deserved—it was iconic.”
