'Gold' becomes first Bollywood film to release in Saudi Arabia

Akshay Kumar-starrer "Gold" has become the first Hindi film to be released in Saudi Arabia, the National Award-winning actor said.

An excited Akshay shared the news on social media, saying the film, which tells the story of India's first Olympic gold medal victory, had begun screening in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

"Gold" is a historical sports drama inspired by India's first Olympic gold medal. The film follows Tapan Das, a young assistant manager of the Indian hockey team, and his dream of winning a gold medal for an independent India.

The film features Mouni Roy, Amit Sadh, Kunal Kapoor, Sunny Kaushal and Vineet Kumar Singh in key roles.

Directed by Reema Kagti, "Gold" was released in India on August 15.
