Khunti: An Up-Mukhiya of Kudapurty village along with his wife was gunned down by three unidentified armed miscreants under Saiko Police Station area of this district.
The deceased have been identified as Sheetal Munda (50) and his wife Madhe Munda (45). Munda was also the booth level president of BJP of Kudapurty.
The couple has three children among whom a girl lives in a hostel whereas a son and daughter were in the home at the time of the incident. The children said that the criminals were demanding money over a pond construction and when their parents refused then they were shot and the miscreants fled from the spot.
Upon receiving information of police team reached on the spot and send the bodies for postmortem to Sadar Hospital Khunti SP Ashutosh Shekhar and district chief of the BJP also reached on the spot and inquired into the incident.
