Ranchi Durga Puja Traffic Plan: Restrictions to Begin on October 14

Preparations for Durga Puja are gathering pace across Ranchi, with markets witnessing an increase in shoppers and devotees preparing to visit pandals and fairgrounds with their families. Anticipating large crowds during the festival, Ranchi Police have stepped up preparations to strengthen security and ensure smooth traffic movement across the city.

Police officials recently held a review meeting with station in-charges, Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) to assess arrangements for the festive season. Discussions focused on security at major puja pandals, police deployment in crowded areas and measures to prevent traffic congestion.

Officials also reviewed existing preparations and discussed corrective steps to address potential challenges during the celebrations.

Traffic Plan to Begin on October 14

According to police, personnel are set to be deployed at major puja pandals and other crowded locations from October 14. A dedicated traffic management plan will also come into effect on the same day.

Under the plan, traffic restrictions will be introduced on selected routes to manage the expected rush and keep vehicles moving smoothly. Police are planning to inform the public about the proposed traffic changes in advance so that commuters can plan their journeys and avoid unnecessary delays.

Residents and visitors are advised to stay updated on official traffic advisories, particularly if they plan to visit popular pandals or busy market areas during the festival.

Focus on Women's and Children's Safety

Ensuring the safety of women, children and families visiting puja pandals and fairgrounds is among the key priorities for Ranchi Police. Officials said arrangements would be made to regulate crowds, improve pedestrian movement and maintain a secure environment at major gathering points.

With large numbers of devotees expected to take part in the celebrations, coordinated efforts by police personnel and traffic officials will be essential to prevent congestion and respond promptly to any problems.
