Jharkhand High Court Rejects Plea Against JPSC Civil Services Main Exam Results

Ranchi — The Jharkhand High Court has dismissed a petition challenging the results of the 11th to 13th Combined Civil Services Main Examination conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC).

Justice Deepak Roshan delivered the verdict after hearing both parties. Petitioners Ayub Tirkey and Rajesh Kumar had raised concerns over the 2024 advertisement and merit list, alleging irregularities in the evaluation process.

They argued that digital evaluation of answer sheets was carried out despite existing rules prohibiting this. A third-party agency was hired for evaluation, but no details were shared regarding its appointment. Additionally, they claimed that regional language papers were checked by examiners lacking the required 10 years of experience.

The petitioners demanded cancellation of the results based on these objections.

During the previous hearing, the court sought a response from the JPSC. On Thursday, JPSC’s advocate Sanjay Piperwal contended that the objections were raised only after the petitioners failed the exam, which weakens their credibility.

He further emphasized that the examination process applied uniformly to all candidates, ensuring fairness.

After considering arguments, the court ruled that the objections were delayed and lacked merit, finding no irregularities in the evaluation process.

The recruitment process, initiated in January 2024, involved over 3.5 lakh candidates. The preliminary exam took place in March, results were declared in April, and 7,011 candidates advanced to the main exam, held from June 22 to 24, 2024. Final results were announced on May 20, 2025.

This recruitment drive will fill 342 vacancies.
