Workshop organised over drug trafficking at police headquarters

Ranchi (By our correspondent): A workshop was organised at the police headquarters over drug trafficking and the concerted efforts in which apart from the officials of the Jharkhand Police those related from Narcotics control bureau, Excise Department and Revenue Intelligence Department among others also participated.

In the workshop, discussion was held to prevent the cultivation of the prohibited drugs and steps to be taken to prevent its trade. In the workshop it was also made evident in places were cultivation of opium is being done the panchayat representatives of the area concerned should immediately get in touch with the police and also instructions were issued to the forest department to identify such spots and inform the police department for taking action.

In the workshop it was deliberated that the identity of the informer will be kept secret and the concerned person will also be awarded. In the second session, the officials of narcotics bureau gave special training to 15 DSPs on NDPS Act. The workshop was also attended by senior officials of the police headquarters and DCs and SPs of Ranchi, Chatra, Saraikela, Latehar, Palamu, Khunti and Hazaribagh along with those from the CRPF and SSB.
