After Malaysian woman found positive, 90 people from Hindpiri sent into quarantine

Ranchi: 90 people from the Hindpiri area have been sent to quarantine after a Malaysian woman had tested positive for Coronavirus making it the first case in the state.

Hindpiri continues to remain under curfew with heavy police deployment across the area and in the adjoining streets. The Ranchi district administration on Wednesday deployed a team for probe and inquiry in Hindpiri prior to which DC Rai Mahimpet Rey briefed all the people after which they reached the spot.

After the team reached the area five homes in which the woman had stayed were vacated and their occupants were sent to a quarantine facility in Khelgaon. Ranchi Sadar SDO said that in all the homes where the woman had stayed have been evacuated however the inquiry will continue further so that the last person can also be reached upon.

For conducting the inquiry a healthcare team comprising the officials of the health department, cleanliness staff, jawans of the police etc. The Ranchi district administration has gone on a high alert mode post the discovery of the first case.

Police have been deployed at every 500 meters at the radius who are checking and asking questions from each and every person who comes out on the road amid the lockdown.

The Ranchi DC and SSP have already issued a warning that if the people fail to obey the terms and conditions of the lockdown than in the entire city Curfew will be imposed.
