India Clinch Inaugural Women’s T20 World Cup Cricket for the Blind

Colombo — The Indian women’s blind cricket team created history by winning the first-ever Women’s T20 World Cup Cricket for the Blind, defeating Nepal by seven wickets in a commanding final in Colombo. India finished the tournament undefeated, showcasing complete dominance from start to finish.

After winning the toss, India chose to field and restricted Nepal to 114/5 in 20 overs. The run chase was swift and precise, with India achieving the target in just 12.1 overs, leaving 47 balls to spare.
Khula Sharir was the star of the match, scoring an unbeaten 44 off 27 balls with four boundaries, leading India to a comfortable win.

This triumph comes less than three weeks after India’s visually able women’s team beat South Africa in Navi Mumbai — two major victories that reflect the rising strength of women’s cricket across all categories in the country.

In the semi-finals, India cruised past Australia with a nine-wicket victory, while Nepal edged out Pakistan in a tight contest to reach the final.

The six-nation T20 World Cup — featuring India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Australia, and the USA — began on November 11 in New Delhi. After matches in Bengaluru, the tournament concluded with the knockout stages in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
