New Delhi — Tamil Nadu’s Manish Sureshkumar and Maharashtra’s Vaishnavi Adkar claimed the men’s and women’s singles titles, respectively, at the 30th National Tennis Championship (Fenesta Open) held at the DLTA Complex on Saturday.
In the men’s singles final, Manish defeated Keerthivassan Suresh 6-4, 6-2 in a two-hour battle, showing composure in key moments. After an early exchange of breaks, Manish broke again to take the opening set and then rode the momentum to dominate the second.
Vaishnavi, meanwhile, overpowered Akanksha Nitture 6-1, 6-2 in the women’s singles final. Breaking serve early in both sets, the Maharashtra player maintained control with consistent baseline play to secure the crown.
The championship, supported by DCM Shriram Ltd. and organised under the aegis of AITA and DLTA, once again showcased the depth of India’s tennis talent.

U-18 Girls’ Singles: Harshini N beat Snigdha Kanta 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 in a gruelling three-hour clash.
U-18 Boys’ Singles: Tavish Pahwa edged past Hruthik Katakam 7-6(2), 1-0 (retired).
Men’s Doubles: Nitin Kumar Sinha/Maan Kesharwani defeated Manish Sureshkumar/Abhinav Sanjeev S 6-4, 3-6, [10-5].
Women’s Doubles: Akanksha Nitture/Soha Sadiq beat Pooja Ingale/Yubrani Banerjee 6-2, 6-2.
U-18 Boys’ Doubles: Vraj H. Gohil/Prakaash Sarran rallied past Karan Thapa/Channamallikarjuna Yale 2-6, 7-5, [10-5].
U-18 Girls’ Doubles: Savitha Bhuvaneswaran/Aahan defeated Akansha Ghosh/Deepshika V 6-3, 6-3.
The championship carries prize money of over ?21.55 lakh, along with kit allowances for junior players. Winners and runners-up in the U-16 and U-14 categories will also receive tennis scholarships worth ?25,000 each. The qualifying and main draw matches in these age groups will be played from October 5 to 11.
