German Masters: Diksha Dagar and Vani Kapoor Break into Top 10

Hamburg — Diksha Dagar and Vani Kapoor emerged as the top-performing Indians after the second round of the Amundi German Masters, both securing positions inside the Top 10. With Avani Prashanth also making the cut, three of the nine Indian golfers who teed off at Green Eagle Golf Course progressed further in the tournament.

Diksha, who was in the top five after the first round, slipped slightly with an even-par round but managed to stay tied for 8th place. Vani Kapoor climbed the leaderboard after carding a solid 3-under 70, placing her alongside Diksha in joint 8th position.

Avani Prashanth was the only other Indian to make the cut. She shot a 1-over 74 to end the day tied for 43rd place, registering two birdies, one bogey, and one double bogey.

Tvesa Malik narrowly missed the cut by one stroke after rounds of 74 and 76, with the cut set at 3-over. Other Indian golfers who failed to progress included Sneha Singh (78-75), Amandeep Drall (78-75), Hitaashee Bakshi (79-81), and Vidhatri Urs (93-87). Neha Tripathi withdrew after the first round.

At the top of the leaderboard, Germany's Helen Briem and Sweden's Elinor Sudow shared the lead. Briem shot a 1-under 70, bringing her total to 8-under with rounds of 68 and 70. Sudow also carded a 3-under 70 to tie for the lead.

Singapore's Shannon Tan impressed with a 4-under 69, placing her in third with a 7-under total after two rounds.

Helen Briem and Shannon Tan are currently the two highest-ranked players from the Order of Merit participating in the tournament.

Diksha's second round began on the front nine, where she birdied the second hole but gave the shot back on the third. She added another birdie on the ninth. On the back nine, she bogeyed the 12th, birdied the 13th, but dropped another shot on the 16th, finishing with an even-par round to remain at 4-under overall.

Vani started steadily, birdied the seventh, but bogeyed the ninth to close the front nine. She recovered well with birdies on the 12th, 15th, and 18th holes, ending her round at 3-under and bringing her total to 4-under par for the tournament.
