Air India Halts All Middle East Flights Amid Escalating Conflict in Iran

New Delhi - Air India on Saturday announced the suspension of all its flights to destinations across the Middle East due to the rapidly evolving security situation in the region.

The decision comes as the United States and Israel launched what they described as “major combat operations” in Iran, sharply escalating regional tensions.

“In view of the developing situation in parts of the Middle East, all Air India flights to all destinations in the Middle East have been suspended,” the airline said in a statement.

Emphasising passenger and crew safety, Air India said it would continue to closely monitor the security environment and adjust its operations proactively. The airline added that its teams are providing all necessary assistance to affected passengers.

Passengers have been advised to check their flight status online or contact the airline’s 24×7 call centres. “You are also requested to check our website. Thank you for your patience and understanding,” the statement said.

The coordinated US–Israel strikes on Iran have heightened fears of a broader regional conflict, raising concerns over potential geopolitical and economic fallout across the Middle East.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Air India Express said that, given the unfolding situation in the Gulf region, the airline has suspended all westbound international flights. “The safety and security of our guests and crew remain our highest priority,” the spokesperson said.

Air India Express said it is closely tracking developments and will review and modify operations as required. Impacted passengers are being informed directly through their registered contact details.

Guests have been advised to check flight status on the airline’s website, ensure their contact information is updated, and visit the “Manage Booking” section for details on change and cancellation waivers for affected flights.
