Tesla Begins Deliveries of Model Y in India, Long Range Variant Coming Soon

Mumbai: Tesla, led by Elon Musk, has officially begun deliveries of its standard Model Y in India. The Long Range variant is expected to reach customers shortly.

To enhance the ownership experience, Tesla is providing all new Model Y buyers with a complimentary Wall Connector, which can be installed at their homes or workplaces. This allows convenient overnight charging, helping customers start each day with a full battery while reducing per-mile costs and avoiding fuel station visits.

In addition to home charging, Tesla owners in India can use the company’s charging stations in Mumbai and Delhi. The One BKC facility in Mumbai houses four V4 Superchargers (DC) and four Destination Chargers (AC). Meanwhile, the Aerocity station in Delhi features four V4 Superchargers (DC) and three Destination Chargers (AC), giving users flexible charging options.

The Model Y starts at ?59.89 lakh for the standard Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) variant, while the Long Range RWD version is priced at ?67.89 lakh (both ex-showroom).

Tesla is also expanding its retail presence. Last month, the company opened its first showroom in Delhi NCR at the Worldmark 3 complex in Aerocity—its second outlet in India within a month. Located near Indira Gandhi International Airport, the showroom serves as an experience centre where customers can explore the Model Y, learn about the buying process, and understand charging solutions.

By entering India’s premium EV segment ahead of the festive season, Tesla is aiming to strengthen its foothold in the market. For now, the company’s focus remains on retail access and customer onboarding, while details on local manufacturing and additional models are yet to be disclosed.

The Model Y currently stands as Tesla’s flagship offering in India, symbolising the company’s first step toward building a stronger EV presence in the country.
