PM to visit Odisha, Chhattisgarh on Saturday

New Delhi (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha on Saturday to launch a series of projects including an airport at Jharsuguda and a fertilizer plant at Talcher.

He will also visit Janjgir Champa in Chhattisgarh to lay the foundation stone for some national highway projects and the Pendra-Anuppur third railway line. 

The Prime Minister will also visit an exhibition on traditional handloom and agriculture. 

"At Talcher in Odisha, he will unveil a plaque to mark the commencement of work for the revival of Talcher Fertilizer Plant. This is the first plant in India which will have a coal gasification-based fertilizer unit," an official said. 

In addition to fertilizer, the plant will also produce natural gas. 

"The Prime Minister will then travel to Jharsuguda where he will inaugurate the Jharsuguda airport. This airport shall bring western Odisha on the aviation map of India, and facilitate regional air connectivity through the UDAN scheme." 

During his visit to Odisha, Modi will also inaugurate Garjanbahal coal mines and the Jharsuguda-Barapali-Sardega rail link. 

"He will also unveil a plaque to mark the commencement of coal production and transportation from Dulanga coal mines," the official added.
