Chief Secretary directs to organise Constitution Day program at government offices

Ranchi: Chief Secretary Dr DK Tiwari has instructed to organise the Constitution Day program in all government offices of the state including the Jharkhand Ministry on November 26 to mark the 70th anniversary of the Constitution Adoption Day.

The Chief Secretary said that the Preamble of the Constitution should be repeated on Constitution Day and work should be done to make people aware by organising programs related to fundamental duties.

By organizing such programs, ordinary citizens will get to know about the constitution of the country. He said that on the occasion of Constitution Day, employees of all government institutions, students in all colleges and higher educational institutions should also pledge to perform the fundamental duties.

He emphasised to connect more and more common people with this program. The Chief Secretary said that the Constitution of India is an important document, that gives equal rights to every citizen of the country and also determines our duties. The Constituent Assembly took a long time of 2 years 11 months 18 days to complete it.

The Chief Secretary said that programs should be organised on the occasion of Constitution Day for the purpose of connecting the general public in relation to the constitution and fundamental duties. He said that Constitution Day should also be organised in schools and colleges to give information related to the Indian constitution.

The basic purpose of celebrating Constitution Day is to make the citizens of the country aware of the Constitution. It is necessary to spread the importance of the constitution in the society and remember this invaluable contribution of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar and his ideas. The youth should take part in the constitution day programs.

The Constitution Day is celebrated every year on 26th November in India. The Constitution of India was approved by the Constituent Assembly on 26th November in the year 1949 which came into effect on 26th January 1950.

Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar is called the father of the Constitution of India. On 26th November, Constitution Day will be celebrated in all government offices, including the Ministry of Jharkhand at HEC, Ranchi, Secretariat at Nepal House, Information and Public Relations Department at Meyers Road and also in every schools and college.
