Congress accuses state govt of speaking lies on Maoist problem

Ranchi: The Congress party has accused the state government of speaking lies over the law and order situation and maoits menace in Jharkhand.

Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters here JPCC spokesperson Samsher Aalam said that the party condemns the incident of Latehar in strongest possible words and offers its tribute towards the martyr policemen however the incident clear shows that law and order was missing from Jharkhand.

He said that Union Minister Amit Shah and other leaders of the BJP during their election rallies had hailed Raghubar Das for removing the maoists from the state but on the other hand the ultras have given open challenge to the government and busted all the claims.

He said that even the election commission had claimed that since maoist problem was still in Jharkhand, therefore, the election was being held in five phases.

The party also sought answers from the government over the number of maoists who have surrendered in the last five years and the money spent by the state government in campaigns against the ultras.
