Ranchi: Extending his greetings on the occasion of the National Press Day Jharkhand Chief Secretary D K Tiwari said that due to its important role media has been described as the fourth pillar of democracy.
He said that the independence of the press and media is an important link to maintain a healthy and strong democracy.
He said that the national press day was a symbol of independence and responsibility towards society. Mr Tiwari said that media plays an important role in maintaining peace, law and order and communal harmony.
IPRD Secretary Sunil Kumar Barnwal said that media was an important part of democracy and it had played an important role in the independence of the country also and in the present days to protect the democratic values its role has become even more important.
