Garhwa: A person was shot dead in broad daylight under the Garhwa Police Station area of this district as a result of a gang war.
The deceased have been identified as Hasib Khan (38). Post the incident locals blocked traffic movement on NH75 at Manjhiaon Mode for about three hours.
The agitated people pelted stones and broke the windows of various vehicles. The people called off their agitation after the intervention of SDPO Bahaman Tuti who assured the agitators that the culprits will be nabbed soon.
The people demanded security for the kin of the deceased along with license arm. Police said that Hasib was having tea in a shop when he was fired upon by a couple of motorcycle born criminals who later fled towards the city.
The man was rushed to the Garhwa Sadar Hospital where he was declared dead by the doctors.
Due to the jam vehicles coming from Chhattisgarh Uttar Pradesh Bihar and Jharkhand were struck giving a tough time to the travellers. It took police personnel from Garhwa Ranka and Banshidhar Nagpac to pacify the agitators.
