Minor boy drowns in pond in Dumka

Dumka: A minor boy drowned while taking bath in Bada Bandh pond located under the Town Police Station area of this district.

The deceased has been identified as Rishu (12). The boy alongwith his couple of friends had gone to the pond to reserve the place for performing the Chhath Puja.

However, since it was afternoon all of them got down to swim during which one of them drowned.

It took locals more than 90 minutes to take out the body from the pond after which the boy was rushed to Medical College where he was declared dead by the doctors. The boy was a student of class 4 in a private school.

Upon receiving information Welfare Minister Louis Marandi also reached at the house of the parents of the boy and offered her condolences.
