Employees of RMC go on indefinite strike on 7th pay commission

Ranchi: Demanding implementation of the 7th pay commission scale the employees of the Ranchi Municipal Corporation have gone on an indefinite strike.

Under the banner of the RMC workers association, the employees held an agitation outside the main gate of the RMC headquarters and also indulged in slogan shouting against the state government and the officials.

President of the workers association Naresh Ram said that state government employees were getting the benefits of the 7th pay commission but employees of RMC have been kept outside it which will not be tolerated. He said that for a long period their demands have been ignored however this time unless the pay scale is implemented the strike will continue.

Due to the strike of the RMC staff the work in the corporation was adversely hit as the offices remained empty and work related to birth and death certificates, holding number, mutation of land, water connection was adversely hit and people had to return home empty-handed.
