Rainfall hits Ranchi and other districts, More rains on Sunday

Ranchi: The rain showers were once again back in the state capital and other districts of the state as along with thunderstorm long spells of rainfall was reported.

According to the local weather department on Sunday also light to medium range of rainfall has been predicted.

In the afternoon apart from the state capital of Ranchi districts such as Dhanbad, Bokaro, Chatra, Giridih, Koderma, Hazaribag, Latehar, Palamu reported rainfall which created most trouble for the people involved in the cleaning of the Chatt Ghats.

The rain also acted as a spoilsport during the ongoing test match between India and South Africa being played at the JSCA stadium. In the morning as the weather was clear many people turned up at the venue to see the players in action however as the weather took a U-turn in the afternoon session they started leaving for their homes and even the stalls which had been put up outside the stadium had to return back. Due to the rainfall and bad weather conditions, the entire quota of play could also not be completed and the game had to be stopped for the day.

The rainfall also impacted the JMM’s Badlao rally held at the Harmu Maidan as despite a large number of party workers turning at the venue the incessant rainfall forced them to run for shelter. In the last 24 hours Simdega district has recorded maximum rainfall of 43.8 mm while Ranchi was the coolest at 23.6 Degree Celsius while Chaibasa was the hottest at 33.4 Degree Celsius.
