Durga Puja: Pandals open their door, devotees line up to offer obeisance to deity

Ranchi: Finally the wait of the people was over as all the big and small Puja pandals in the state capital opened their doors for the devotees leading to a huge rush of the devotees outside the venues to offer their obeisance to the deity.

Three of the prominent Puja Pandals including those in Bakri Bazar, Rajasthan Mitra Mandal and OCC had opened for the people on Thursday itself and on Friday after the ritual of Belvaran all the pandals opened their doors for the people. Since the evening itself, huge crowds of the people was witnessed at Puja Pandals at Harmu, Ratu Road, Ranchi Railway Station and at the Main Road.

In wake of the festivities, the district police had made elaborate security arrangements with men and women policemen deployed at all the Puja pandals apart from that Police in plain clothes were also posted to prevent eve-teasing for any untoward incident.

The police headquarter had deployed more than 3000 police personnel on the streets of Ranchi to ensure foolproof security during the festival while CCTV cameras were also installed to keep an eye on trouble mongers.

For the convenience of the devotees, a complete restriction has been imposed on the movement of vehicles on the main road of the city from evening to the morning while police as erected barricading and drop Gates to ensure
smooth movement of the devotees.
