JPCC lines up series of programmes for Bapu’s 150th birthday

Ranchi: The Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee has decided to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi amid much fanfare during which a series of programmes will be organised by the party in the state.

Addressing a press conference at the JPCC headquarters here party unit Chief Dr Rameshwar Oraon said that on October 2 a Pad Yatra will be taken out from Samadhi of Bhagwan Birsa Munda located at Kokar here which will travel through important areas of the city and will finally end at Gandhi Statue at the Morabadi Grounds where it will convert into a meeting for which all the MPs and MLAs, former MPs and MLAs, and other senior Congressmen have been invited.

He said that from October 3 to 9 in all the district and block headquarters Pad Yatra programme will be organised for which responsibility has been assigned to the zonal coordinators and observers and the party will make sure that the programme is held in every district and block headquarters.

Dr Oraon said that all the district and block unit heads have been asked to organise workshops, lectures and seminars and thoughts and ideologies of Gandhiji while a seminar in this regard will be held on October 4 in Ranchi.
