Modi to launch pension scheme for farmers and small shop keepers

Ranchi: As part of the inauguration spere before the assembly elections are declared in the state Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be arriving in the state on Thursday.

During his almost two hour stay in the capital, he will lay foundation stones, inaugurate and launch five schemes and projects and address the people at the Prabhat Tara Grounds.

More than one lakh people especially the farmers are expected to participate in the event at the venue. The Prime Minister will be reaching Ranchi around 11.30 am and will be going straight to the Vidhan Sabha premises and will also view the newly constructed building and interact with the MLAs in the central hall of the Vidhan Sabha and on this occasion he will also launch a special stamp on a special day.

From the Vidhan Sabha, he will reach to the Prabhat Tara grounds and participate in the main function. The new Vidhan Sabha building has been constructed at a cost of Rs 465 crore and is spread across 39 acres and is equipped with all modern facilities.

The Prime Minister will also be launching the Kissan Mandhan Yojana under which a sms will be sent on the mobile of the farmers. Under the Mandhan Yojana small and marginalized farmers who would cross 60 years will get Rs 3000 as monthly pension. Farmers in the age group of 18-40 years age group can become member of the scheme by registering themselves and paying the premium for the scheme.

Further, he will also launch the pension scheme for the small shop keepers and self-employed under which people in the age group of 18-40 years will be registered and they will be provided a pension of Rs 3,000 per month after they turn 60 years of age.

The Prime Minister will also via online mode lay foundation for 462 Ekalvya Model schools in the country. The school will be set up in blocks which has at least 20,000 tribal population and these schools from classes 6 to 12 a total of 480 students will be taught and on per students a sum of Rs 1.09 lakh will be spent. In 69 blocks the Ekalvya Schools will be opened in Jharkhand and before March 2020 23 schools will be opened. Land for the school has been provided and a sum of s 524 crore has been sanctioned.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the multi-model terminal built-in Sahebganj and interact with the people through online mode. The project has been completed at a cost of Rs 299.10 crore and is also linked with rail and road route. From the port every year 1.07 million tonnes of stone chips and 1 million tonnes of coal will be transported and employment will be generated for 2500 people.
