Dhanbad ranks first in water conservation

Dhanbad: As per the new report released by the JAL Jal Shakti Ministry Dhanbad has bagged the first place in the area of water conservation having secured 91.38 points. In the earlier report, the district was in the third position.

In a program which was organised by the ministry on August  26 in New Delhi, Dhanbad DC Amit Kumar had been called who had elaborated on the efforts made for water conservation in the district.

As per the information, the Municipal Corporation undertook plantation drive on a large scale and also constructed ponds in the rural areas.

Earlier Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his Mann ki Baat program held on July 28 had pointed the example of Ara Karem village of Ormanjhi block of Ranchi district for its works in water conservation.

The villagers through their hard work stopped the water of local waterfall by the construction of culvert using stones and now the water was being used for irrigation and was also helping to increase the underground water level.
