
Ranchi: Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sunil Kumar Barnwal and Agriculture Secretary Pooja Singhal held a review meeting through video conferencing with all the DCs over PM Kissan Mandhan Yojana during which the officials were directed to achieve the target with commitment and instructed them to ensure that no negligence should be adopted in completing the targets.
Dr Barnwal said that the scheme was the so far best pension scheme for the farmers of the country and from the land of Jharkhand 40 lakh small and marginal farmers will be linked with the scheme across the country as Prime Minister Narendra Modi will officially launch the scheme from Jharkhand on Sep 12 and said that it was a matter of pride that the Prime Minister had decided to launch the scheme from the state.
He said that the scheme will act as providing social security cover and give a fixed pension to the farmers in their old age. Mr Barnwal said that after 60 whether the farmer was male or female they will get pension of Rs 3000 per month.
He directed the DCs to organise meetings of farmers at the panchayat level and make preparations of the VLE, panchayat representative, DPM, BPM, block coordinators and others to do online registration with dedication. He said that the farmers will only be able to take advantage of the scheme when they are fully aware of the scheme.
Mr Barnwal said that all the DCs have been given the task to include a maximum number of farmers under the scheme as dedicated efforts are being made by Chief Minister Raghubar Das to double the income the farmers of in the next five years. He said that it is the priority for the state government to ensure that the farmers are able to get the benefits of whatever schemes are being run for them.
Speaking on the occasion Agriculture Secretary Pooja Singhal directed to activate all the common service centre with immediate effect. She also directed to hold meetings with the farmers at panchayat level and organise camps to give information about the scheme to the farmers.
She said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be launching this ambitious scheme from Jharkhand on September 12th and it is the priority of the state government to ensure that the farmers of Jharkhand are able to get benefit of this scheme. She said that under PM Kisan Yojana 15.83 lakh farmers have been included while under Mukhyamantri Krishi Ashirwad Yojana 20.56 lakh farmers have been included. She said data present there was a gap of 5 lakh between the two schemes which needed to be completed by September 12th.
Ms Singhal said that to avail the benefits of this scheme the farmers will have to make a monthly contribution between Rs 55 to Rs 200 depending on their age in the pension fund. She said that registration under this has to be done in the age group of 18-40 years and the contribution had to be made till they turn 60 while the central government will give its share accordingly.
