Irate villagers thrash six youths in Koderma suspecting them of being child lifters

Koderma: In yet another glaring example of mob violence in the state irate villagers mercilessly thrashed six youths in Pratappur under Jainagar Police Station area of this district.

Such was the anger among the people that they forcibly took out the youth from the ambulance while they were being rushed to Sadar hospital and once again beat them up. The villagers did not stop at that but also vented their anger on the police and ambulance driver which forced the police to use force to disperse the villagers.

Three youths from Dumaritand village of Barkatha Police Station area identified as Naresh Soren, Anil Soren and Mahadeo Soren were going towards Ghorthamba to celebrate the festival of Karma however they lost their way and ended up asking their way from an old man washing cattle who suddenly raised the alarm of child lifters and soon villagers ended up beating the youths.

In the meantime, three hawkers identified as Md Aslam, Md Karamat Ali and Md Bilal who were travelling in a car selling stationery items stopped at the spot to inquire into the incident and they too were suspected to be child-lifters by the villagers who damaged their car and looted the stationary items. The trio hailed from Uttar Pradesh.

Upon receiving information a police team reached on the spot and rescued the youths and took the youth to the nearby community health care centre from where three with serious injuries Naresh, Anil and Mahadeo were sent to Sadar Hospital for treatment.

While the trio were being taken to Sadar Hospital the villagers once again stopped the ambulance near Jainagar Police station who deflated the tyres and pulled out the youth and once again beat them up. Once again police rushed to the spot and used force to disperse the crowd.
