Two students group clash in college, pelt stone on policemen, damage vehicles

Sahebganj: A minor dispute over sitting in the Science class took an ugly turn in Saint John Worksman Inter College Mundali located under Tin Pahar Police Station area of this district as two student groups clashed with one another forcing teams from four police stations to reach the spot and bring the situation under control.

Police had to resort to using of force to bring things in order but the students retaliated by pelting stones and also damaged three police vehicles in which three policemen and three students were injured.

Police said that a dispute had broken in the college over sitting inside biology class in the college a complaint against which was made by the monitor of the class who was from the hostel and a dispute had broken between hostlers and outside students. Yesterday the hostlers had beaten some local students.

On Tuesday a group of outside students reached into the hostel and beat up two students after all hell broke loose as the students who had their faces covered ransacked the classrooms and also damaged four bikes and a car parked in the hostel. As students started pelting stones on the hostel police teams from Tinpahar, Rajmahal, Taljhari, Radhanagar and Borio reached the hostel and used force to disperse the crowd which angered the students who clashed with the police.

Sahebganj SP HP Janardhanan said the situation was under control and police was camping in the college. He said that Principal of the College has registered the fir while police was also filing an FIR over stone-pelting and damages caused to police vehicles and said that process was on to identify the culprits.
