Center and state government to joint launch campaign against malnutrition in Jharkhand

Ranchi: The Center and the state government will jointly launch a massive campaign against Malnutrition in the state in the month of September in which apart from elected representatives participation of the people will also be ensured.

A decision in this regard was taken in a high-level review meeting over state nutrition mission held at Sashtri Bhawan in New Delhi in which Union Minister for Women and Child Development Smriti Irani and Chief Minister Raghubar Das participated.

The Union Minister said that Jharkhand was making rapid progress and everywhere there was the talk of progress of the state. She said that however for all-round development of the state it is important that malnutrition is completely wiped out from the state, therefore, the central and the state government will jointly start a campaign next month in this regard.

Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that in this campaign the women hailing from the SC/ST community will be specially made aware towards anemia. During the meeting, the progress made in the state for development of women especially the increase in institutional delivery was appreciated.

Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sunil Kumar Barnwal and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
