JPCC pays tributes to former PM late Rajiv Gandhi on his 75th birth anniversary

Ranchi: The Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee celebrated the 75th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna late Rajeev Gandhi as Sadbhawana Diwas in the state during which a series of functions were organized. In a function held at the party headquarters, the party leaders led by former Union Minister and in charge for party affairs in the state RPN Singh garlanded the portrait of Mr Gandhi and offered their floral tributes.

Interacting with the media Mr Singh said that apart from being the creator of Modern India Rajiv Gandhi was also responsible for bringing the IT revolution in the country. He said that while on one hand he laid the foundation to build a modern India with use of IT, on the other hand, strengthened the panchayati raj institutions which helped in the strengthening of rural India.

He said that Mr Gandhi to bring the youth in the mainstream of life he reduced  the voting age from 21 to 18 years and said that the country can never forget his contributions made for tackling the issue of terrorism in Punjab, law on defection and ushering in IT revolution in the country and said that his each and every effort was dedicated for strengthening of the country.

Those who offered their tributes also included Leader of the Legislature Wing of the Congress party Aalamgir Aalam, former Union Ministers Subodhkant Sahai and Dr Rameshwar Oraon, MLA Sukhdeo Bhagat and many other
senior leaders of the party.
