ASI caught taking bribe by ACB in Hazaribagh

Hazaribagh: An Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police posted at Daru Police Station was arrested by the sleuths of the Anti Corruption Bureau while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.

ACB SP Sudarshan Mandal said that a complaint against the ASI Sukhram Bhagat was registered by one Rakib Ansari who had alleged that the policeman was demanding the bribe to ensure bail of a couple of accused in a case. Initially, the ASI had demanded Rs 12,000 but the deal was struck at Rs 10,000.

A DSP level officer of the ACB conducted a probe into the allegations and after it was found to be true a trap was laid and as soon as the money exchanged hands the ASI was nabbed and was later taken away to Hazaribagh.
