Shravani Mela: 1.28 lakh kanwariyas offer Jala-abhishek in Deoghar, about 1 lakh in Basukinath

Deoghar/Dumka: A huge rush on kanwariyas was once again witnessed at Deoghar which is home to Baba Baidynath which is among the 12 Shivlings in the country and also at Basukinath Dham located in Jarmundi block of Dumka district.

A report from Deoghar said that 1.28 lakh kanwariyas offered their obeisance at the temple out of which 3,900 opted for Shigra-darshanam. The district administration is once again gearing up for heavy crowd on the occasion of second Monday of the auspicious month of Shravan falling on July 29.

On the other hand a report from Dumka said almost one lakh devotees offered their obeisance at the temple out of which 2682 kanwariyas opted for shigra-darshanam. During the day the temple received more than Rs 3.94 lakh as offerings from the people from different sources including 72 grams of silver. The temple management also managed to sold 12 coins of 10 grams each during the day and also one coin of 5 grams
