Monsoon Session: Urban Development Minister CP Singh accuses Hemant of taking money from consultancy firm

Ranchi: Urban Development Minister CP Singh was today involved in a heated altercation with Leader of Opposition Hemant Soren during the ongoing Monsoon Session of the Jharkhand Assembly. 

Mr Singh said that as Leader of the Opposition Mr Soren has special privileges which makes him eligible to stand any time and speak anything. His comments were objected by the legislators of the JMM but an unfazed Minister said that he can not do anything as whenever he stands to speak the opposition get a bitter taste in their mouths. 

Continuing his attack on the JMM he said that the opposition party has only heard about smart roads and smart drains but they have never tried to understand their real meanings.

On this Mr Soren said that he was aware of the ‘so called’ works which were being done by the Minister under the Urban Development Department. On this Mr Singh said that f he was really aware of the works of the department was he interested to get a commission for that. He dared Mr Soren to prove the allegations of his wrong doings in public. The minister said that as his stint as Urban  evelopment

Minister Hemant Soren had done nothing and accused him of taking money from consultancy firm Manhart. “All the money which you have taken from Manhart will be taken back from you...all the land which you have acquired will also be taken back from you,” Mr Singh said pointing towards Mr Soren.

His comments drew sharp reactions from the MLAs of the JMM who stormed into the well of the house and indulged in slogan shouting and as allegations and counter attacks flew from one side to another Speaker Dinesh Oraon adjourned the house at 1200hrs till lunch break (1400hrs).
