Intensive diarrheal campaign started by Health Secretary

Ranchi: Secretary Health Nitin Madan Kulkarni kick-started the intensive diarrhea campaign by distributing ORS packet.

Speaking on the occasion he said that stopping diarrhea is very important for the better health of the children. He said that if provided treatment on time than it can help save the precious life of the children.

Dr Kulkarni said by adopting some habits in daily life including cleanliness diarrhea can be controlled. He said that it was important to clean hands before and after eating and for five year old children this is very important.

He said that under this campaign this time a target has been set to provide ORS to 35.70 lakh children. He said that under previous year’s campaign ORS was given to 21.35 lakh children.

He said that under the scheme for 15 days the children will also be given zinc tablets. Mr Kulkarni said that during monsoon chances of diarrhea is most and said that during diarrhea it is important that breast feeding continues when the child is diagnosed with diarrhea and outside food is also a must.

Director Health Services Rajendra Paswan and others were also present on the occasion.
