Ahead of Durga Puja, Dhanbad Transfers Rs. 86.59 Crore to 3.46 Lakh Women Under Maiya Samman Scheme

Ahead of Durga Puja, 3,46,365 women in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad district have received financial assistance under the Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana. The September instalment of ?2,500 per beneficiary has been transferred directly to their bank accounts, taking the total disbursement to ?86,59,12,500.

Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner Aditya Ranjan confirmed that the amount had been transferred to the accounts of all 3,46,365 beneficiaries in the district.

The disbursement comes ahead of Durga Puja, one of Jharkhand’s major festivals. Under the scheme, each beneficiary receives ?2,500 for the relevant monthly instalment.

Govindpur records the highest number of beneficiaries

According to the area-wise figures provided by the district administration, the Govindpur block office area recorded the highest number of beneficiaries, with 50,413 women receiving the payment.

Jharia circle followed with 44,279 beneficiaries, while 44,136 women in Baghmara block received the instalment. The amount was also transferred to 32,424 women in Dhanbad circle, 27,020 in Topchanchi and 23,703 in Nirsa.

Payments reach beneficiaries across other areas

The district administration reported that 21,345 women in Baliapur block, 19,869 in Kaliyasol, 18,165 in Putki circle, 16,877 in Egarkund block and 16,671 in Tundi received the instalment.

In East Tundi, 9,804 women received the payment, while 7,022 beneficiaries were recorded in Dhanbad block.

The figures also include 7,357 beneficiaries in Baghmara circle, 5,292 in Egarkund circle, 1,135 in Baliapur circle and 853 in Govindpur circle.

The latest disbursement covers the September instalment of the Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana in Dhanbad district, with the district administration confirming that payments have been transferred to all listed beneficiaries.
