Two Arrested for Robbing Deoghar CSP Operator of Rs 78,000, Laptop

Police have arrested two men in connection with the alleged robbery of a Customer Service Point (CSP) operator in Margomunda on August 22 and recovered part of the stolen cash, along with a laptop and other belongings.

The accused have been identified as 24-year-old Nasid Ansari of Chamarbigha and around 20-year-old Nawab Ansari of Murlipahari. Police said both were arrested during the investigation and have been sent to judicial custody.

Madhupur Sub-Divisional Police Officer Satyendra Prasad said CSP operator Mohd Kaleem Ansari was returning home after closing his CSP at around 6.25 p.m. on August 22. He was allegedly stopped near a river between Mahuatand and Kano by three unidentified men travelling on a motorcycle.

According to the police, the suspects fled with his bag, which contained Rs 78,000 in cash, an HP laptop, two Morpho biometric devices, a GPS connector, identity documents, a purse, receipt slips and a Vivo mobile phone.

A case was registered at Margomunda police station on August 23 under Section 309(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

During the investigation, police recovered Rs 4,700, the complainant's PAN card and photographs from Nasid Ansari. An HP laptop and Rs 9,000 were also recovered based on information provided by Nawab Ansari.

Police said both arrested men have previous criminal cases registered against them. Nasid Ansari has cases registered at Margomunda police station as well as the Delhi Cyber Police Station, while Nawab Ansari has previous cases at Margomunda police station.

The investigation and arrests were carried out by a team led by Madhupur SDPO Satyendra Prasad, Margomunda police station officer-in-charge Shashi Kapoor, investigating officer Lakshman Bobonga and armed police personnel.

Police are continuing the investigation to identify the other person allegedly involved in the robbery and recover the remaining stolen property.
