Gumla Polytechnic College celebrates Teachers' Day with cultural programmes

Gumla Polytechnic College celebrated Teachers' Day with enthusiasm and a series of cultural and inspirational programmes on Friday, paying tribute to former President and Bharat Ratna Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

The programme began with floral tributes to Dr Radhakrishnan, whose birth anniversary is observed as Teachers' Day in India. Students and faculty members paid homage to his contribution to education and highlighted the importance of the teacher-student relationship.

The celebrations featured music, dance and speeches by students, who extended their greetings to their teachers and showcased their talents. Students and faculty members also expressed gratitude to teachers for their guidance, encouragement and support.

Principal Dr Shiba Narayan Sahu spoke about Dr Radhakrishnan's life and achievements, describing his contribution to education as an enduring source of inspiration. He urged students to strive for excellence and emphasised the important role teachers play in shaping society.

Director of Gumla Polytechnic College, Abhijit Kumar, joined the celebrations online and conveyed his greetings to the students and faculty members on the occasion.

Chief Administrative Officer Ajit Kumar Shukla thanked the teachers and students for making the programme a success. He said the occasion was an opportunity to honour the hard work and dedication of teachers and described the collective celebration as an inspiring experience for the entire college community.

The programme concluded with students and faculty members paying floral tribute to Dr Radhakrishnan and reaffirming the importance of the guru-shishya tradition in education.
