Six Jharkhand Police Officers Retire After Decades of Service

A chapter in the Jharkhand Police came to an end on Monday as six officers retired from government service after years of duty and responsibility. Among those who retired on August 31 were 2010-batch IPS officer Sandhya Rani Mehta, DSPs Baiju Oraon and Rajesh Kumar, and inspectors Ramesh Kumar Singh, Ashutosh Pratap Narayan and Ashok Kumar Singh.

The officers spent much of their careers handling a wide range of responsibilities within the state police. Their service included duties related to maintaining law and order, preventing and investigating crime, and managing various policing assignments across Jharkhand.

Sandhya Rani Mehta belongs to the 2010 batch of the Indian Police Service, while the other five officers are from the 1994 batch. After spending decades within the same police service, their retirement marked an important transition for both the officers and their colleagues.

Fellow officers and batchmates extended their best wishes to the retiring officials on the occasion. They wished them good health, a long and fulfilling life, and a peaceful new phase beyond government service.

Colleagues also recalled the experience and sense of responsibility the officers brought to their assignments during their careers. For many serving personnel who worked alongside them over the years, the retirement was not simply an administrative milestone but also an emotional moment.

With their official duties now coming to an end, the six officers will step away from the daily demands of policing. However, their years of service, professional experiences and memories built within the department will remain part of their personal and professional journeys.

For the Jharkhand Police, August 31 marked the end of one phase for six of its officers. The uniforms may now be put away, but the decades they spent serving the state will remain an enduring part of their lives and the memories of those who worked with them.
