JSCA AGM Approves Audited Accounts, Appoints Former Jharkhand HC Chief Justice as Ombudsman

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) was held on Sunday at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi, with around 400 members attending the meeting from different parts of Jharkhand.

The meeting was chaired by JSCA President Ajay Nath Shahdeo. Vice-President Sanjay Pandey, Honorary Secretary Saurabh Tiwary, Honorary Treasurer Amitava Ghosh and Honorary Joint Secretary Shahbaz Nadeem were among the office-bearers present. Other members of the Committee of Management also attended the meeting.

During the AGM, members formally confirmed the proceedings of the previous Annual General Meeting as well as the Special General Meeting held on August 25, 2026.

The audited statement of accounts for the financial year 2025-26 was placed before the members and was unanimously approved. The meeting also saw the nomination of Justice Virendra Singh, former Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court, as the Ombudsman and Ethics Officer of the association.

Honorary Secretary Saurabh Tiwary presented an overview of JSCA's activities and achievements during the year. He highlighted the performances of various players and teams associated with the state cricket body, including JSCA's title-winning campaign in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Tiwary also announced the selectors appointed for the men's and women's teams for the upcoming season. The appointments are expected to play an important role in shaping the state squads as preparations begin for the new domestic cricket season.

The members also ratified several decisions taken by the Committee of Management during the previous year. Among these was the decision to expel S. B. Singh from the membership of the association.

The AGM provided an opportunity for JSCA members from across the state to review the association's financial affairs, sporting performance and key administrative decisions over the past year.

The meeting concluded with Vice-President Sanjay Pandey delivering the vote of thanks.
