Jamshedpur Hotel Businessman Shot Dead in Broad Daylight, Police Probe Motive

A 33-year-old businessman, Nikhar Sablok, was shot dead in broad daylight near the Tenth Mile Stone Hotel in Chandil, triggering panic in the area. Sablok, a resident of Vijaya Heritage in Kadma, had reportedly gone to the hotel for a business meeting when he was attacked while leaving the premises.

According to reports, Sablok was walking towards his vehicle after the meeting when armed attackers opened fire. He suffered four bullet injuries and was rushed by his friends to Tata Main Hospital (TMH) in Jamshedpur. Doctors declared him dead after examination.

The shooting took place around 3.30 pm in the hotel premises in the Chandil police station area. Police reached the spot soon after receiving information and began collecting evidence. Nine empty cartridges were reportedly recovered from the crime scene, although reports differ on the exact number of cartridges and other ballistic evidence recovered.

Attack appears to have been planned

The circumstances of the attack suggest that the assailants may have been waiting for Sablok to leave the hotel. Some reports said two attackers were involved, while another report claimed three men arrived on a motorcycle. Police have not officially confirmed the exact number or identities of the attackers.

Investigators are examining CCTV footage from the hotel and surrounding areas to establish the movements of the attackers and identify their escape route. Police are also looking into Sablok's recent business activities, associates and any disputes that could have preceded the killing.

Police examining multiple angles

The motive behind the murder has not yet been officially established. Investigators are reportedly examining possible business disputes, personal enmity and an extortion angle. The police have not confirmed any one theory at this stage.

Sablok was associated with the hotel business and other commercial activities in Jamshedpur. His business connections and recent dealings are therefore expected to form an important part of the investigation.

The killing has also attracted attention because Sablok had been associated with the BJP, according to local reports, and was described in some reports as being close to Jamshedpur MLA Saryu Rai. These details may add a political dimension to the case, but there is currently no official indication that his political association was connected to the murder.

Police have intensified efforts to identify and apprehend the assailants. The exact motive and the people behind the attack are expected to become clearer as investigators analyse CCTV footage, forensic evidence, Sablok's recent contacts and other leads.
