Devastating Bus-Truck Collision in Koderma Leaves 12-Year-Old Dead, 40-50 Injured

A tragic road accident in Koderma district early Friday morning claimed the life of a 12-year-old boy and left around 40 to 50 pilgrims injured after a bus carrying devotees collided head-on with a truck.

The accident took place around 4 a.m. near Pokhardih More under the Satgawan police station area. The impact was so severe that panic spread among the passengers, many of whom were travelling together as part of a religious pilgrimage.

According to preliminary information, the Safari Travels bus was returning from Basukinath Dham and was headed towards Rajgir. The pilgrims had earlier visited Deoghar and Basukinath, where they offered prayers and performed Jalabhishek, and Rajgir was their next destination.

The journey, however, came to a tragic halt near Pokhardih More when the bus collided with an allegedly uncontrolled truck. Shivam Kumar, 12, a resident of Rautahat district in Nepal, died on the spot in the crash.

Several passengers sustained injuries in the collision and were rushed for medical treatment. The large number of casualties has raised concerns over the safety of early-morning travel on the route, particularly for buses carrying pilgrims over long distances.

The exact cause of the truck losing control and further details about the injured passengers are expected to emerge as authorities continue their assessment of the accident.
