JPSC Row: Government Urges Students to Suspend Stir, Assures Action Against Those Responsible

Ranchi: With student groups announcing a planned Assembly gherao over alleged irregularities in JPSC and other recruitment examinations, the Jharkhand government on Sunday appealed to the protesters to suspend their agitation, assuring them that those found responsible for irregularities would face action.

Ministers Sudivya Kumar Sonu, Deepika Pandey Singh, Sanjay Kumar Yadav and Chamra Linda jointly addressed a press conference and presented the government’s position on the ongoing controversy.

The ministers said the government was taking the students’ demands seriously and urged the protesters to end their sit-in and suspend the agitation. They assured the students that if their grievances were not resolved, the government would continue to stand with them.

The government also promised action against those responsible for alleged irregularities in the recruitment examination process. The ministers said accountability would be fixed wherever lapses or wrongdoing were established.

The alleged irregularities linked to TDPL, an agency involved in conducting recruitment examinations, also came up during the press conference. The government said that if the agency was found to have committed any wrongdoing, it would have to face the consequences and responsibility would be fixed after investigation.

The ministers said steps would also be taken to make the recruitment examination system more transparent so that similar questions do not arise in future.

On the students’ demand for cancellation of the JSSC CGL examination, the government maintained that cancellation was not possible under the existing rules. The ministers said the government could not take a decision contrary to the provisions governing the examination.

The government also announced plans to launch a portal for information and complaints related to recruitment examinations. The portal is expected to provide a platform for people across Jharkhand to submit complaints and bring examination-related issues before the authorities.

Regarding the 14th JPSC examination, the government referred to earlier controversies surrounding the first and second JPSC examinations. The ministers said a CBI probe had earlier been discussed in connection with alleged irregularities in those examinations, but no concrete chargesheet or conclusive outcome had emerged so far.

The government said the CID investigation into the current cases would continue and would be taken to its logical conclusion. The ministers appealed to students to maintain faith in the process and suspend their proposed agitation while the investigations and corrective measures move forward.
