Ranchi votes on Monday to elect its MP: DC and SP urge people to come out and vote

Ranchi: Votes will be cast on Monday on the Ranchi Lok Sabha seat for which polling parties have been dispatched from the Morabadi Football Stadium. Briefing the press DEO cum Ranchi DC Rai Mahimpet Rey said that the total number of voters in Ranchi was 18,65,627 which included 9,73,030 male, 8,92,547 female and 50 third gender voters.

He said that the total number of polling booths was 2342. He said that 22 super zonal, 60 zonal magistrates and 338 micro observers have been appointed while the number of clusters was 152, on the other hand, the number of women booths was 21. He said that in Block A of the collectorate assembly wise control room has been formed in which 200 people have been deployed.

The DEO said that no outsider person associated with political campaigning can remain in the Ranchi Lok Sabha area when pointed out that some institutions had not given holiday to their staff to cast the vote he said that it was unconstitutional and action against them would be taken under section 135 B of the People’s Representative Act of 1951.

Briefing the press Ranchi SSP Anish Gupta said that static force has been deployed at all booth for security and police officers will also be present. He said that a separate quick response team has also been formed.
