
Deoghar: In a major step towards ensuring a transparent and error-free electoral process, the district administration in Deoghar has started publishing the list of un-mapped voters at all polling stations from Friday. The initiative has been launched following directions from the Election Commission of India and the lists will remain available for public verification over the next two weeks.A large number of voters visited their respective polling booths on the very first day to verify their names and details in the electoral rolls.
Officials said the exercise is aimed at making the voter database more accurate and inclusive ahead of upcoming elections.Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Shashi Prakash Singh has directed all concerned officials to complete the verification process in a fair, transparent and time-bound manner. He said the administration’s priority is to ensure that no eligible voter is deprived of the right to vote.
The district administration has appealed to residents to make full use of the verification period. Voters who find errors in their names, age or address, wish to correct details, transfer their polling station, or add new names to the voter list have been advised to immediately contact their Booth Level Officer or the district election office.
