Ramgarh DISHA Meet Focuses on Accountability, Flags Illegal Mining and Gaps in Welfare Schemes

The District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) convened a comprehensive review meeting in Ramgarh on Monday, chaired by Member of Parliament Manish Jaiswal. The session evaluated the implementation of development initiatives and public welfare programs in the district.

The review included progress on earlier decisions and brought several critical challenges to the forefront. Both the MP and Deputy Commissioner Rituraj emphasized accountability and responsiveness from officials.

Illegal mining was identified as a serious issue impacting both revenue and infrastructure safety. The MP criticized the concerned officials and called for immediate corrective action. The administration responded by announcing a special task force and enhanced monitoring in vulnerable zones.

Skill development programs were scrutinized for lacking real employment outcomes. Agencies were warned to move beyond documentation and ensure actual job placements through industry partnerships.

The REO department was instructed to accelerate rural road projects and improve oversight of contractors. In social welfare, officials were asked to identify and include excluded beneficiaries through targeted camps and maintain transparency in pension schemes.

Healthcare practices came under sharp focus, particularly the referral of patients to private clinics. Authorities were directed to strictly regulate such practices and enforce restrictions on nearby private establishments.

Education outcomes were also reviewed, with concern over poor results. Measures were proposed to strengthen teacher accountability and arrange substitute educators where needed.

A significant gap in Anganwadi infrastructure was noted, with a majority operating in private buildings. Officials were directed to expedite construction and ensure essential facilities.

The drinking water department faced strong criticism for non-compliance and inaccurate reporting. Immediate surveys and restoration plans were mandated, along with a high-level administrative review.

Discussions also covered key infrastructure needs, including flyovers, street lighting, and accident-prone highway zones.

The MP reiterated that the aim is to ensure effective delivery of government schemes to every eligible citizen.

Multiple flagship schemes were reviewed, and public representatives actively raised issues from their constituencies. Officials were instructed to take swift and concrete action.

The meeting saw participation from MLAs, district authorities, and grassroots representatives from across Ramgarh district.
