BJP Accuses JMM of Turning Santhal Pargana into Bengal

Ranchi: BJP state general secretary and MP Aditya Sahu on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on JMM general secretary Suprio Bhattacharya, accusing the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) of trying to convert the entire Santhal Pargana region into a replica of West Bengal through its appeasement politics.

Sahu claimed that the Santhal community has now recognised JMM’s true character and divisive tactics. According to him, the JMM is frustrated and desperate as its political support is rapidly eroding and public dissatisfaction with the Hemant Soren government continues to grow.

He questioned whether the descendants of the martyrs, in whose names government events are organised, are actually being honoured. Sahu alleged that the state government uses force, lathi charges, and tear gas on these descendants, preventing them from paying tribute to their ancestors.

Accusing the JMM of being arrogant and unapologetic, Sahu described the party as "mentally bankrupt" and claimed it treats descendants of Santhal heroes like Sido Kanhu and Mandal Murmu as mere political pawns.

Sahu also challenged JMM to reveal who orchestrated the killings of Rameshwar Murmu and who was responsible for the attacks on tribal families in Gopinathpur and Gay Bathan. He further accused the ruling party of enabling Bangladeshi Rohingya infiltrators to illegally occupy land and questioned how these infiltrators were obtaining voter IDs, ration cards, and Aadhaar cards under political protection.

Raising concerns over the increasing incidents of "Love Jihad" and "Land Jihad" in the region, Sahu also criticised JMM leaders for remaining silent when Mamata Banerjee’s West Bengal government allegedly insulted Jharkhand by denying permission for "Hul Day" celebrations.

Sahu reminded that it was BJP that created Jharkhand and vowed that the party will not let the state be destroyed. He warned that Santhal Pargana is not JMM's personal property and assured that BJP will channel the growing public anger against the Hemant Soren government.
